ELKLAN Communication Support for Verbal ASD Pupils

Overview

Taking place over ten sessions, this *NEW UPDATED* practical training course is specifically designed for staff working in primary and secondary schools to support the development of communication skills in pupils with Autism, and so ehance their learning, social interaction and support behaviour.

ELKLAN training programmes are accredited courses and clearly focus on the specific target group of children or young people they are designed to train practitioners to support.

The content of this programme is determined through extensive research of current literature and observation of best practice from within schools, other settings, and speech and language therapy services primary age range.

Learning Outcomes

Be able to work more effectively and support the communication skills of pupils with Autism.

Understand the link between sensory integration and Autism.

Understand the role of non verbal communication and the importance of structure.

Identify how to use visual tools to transform information into knowledge.

Develop interaction and pragmatic skills in pupils with Autism.
